They've each got a bright future ahead of them.

Whether you take home the crown or not, any beauty queen who makes it to the Miss Universe stage is practically promised a bright and fruitful career the moment they return to their respective countries. Where some continue to work for their advocacies, others are welcomed with open arms into the entertainment industry. What more for the final five who managed to wave their nation’s flag until the very end of the cutthroat competition?

Below we find out what’s next for the Top 5 of Miss Universe 2020.

Miss Mexico Andrea Meza - Miss Universe

During an interview on the American talk show Good Morning America, Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza revealed that her activities started immediately after the pageant. This included having to move to New York just days after her win. Much like past titleholders, she’s expected to fulfill her duties for an entire year. Majority of her responsibilities require her to raise awareness and funds for charities, attend events on behalf of the Miss Universe organization, do volunteer humanitarian work, and advance her advocacy on women’s rights through her now global platform.

Miss Brazil Julia Gama - First Runner-Up

When talking about her future plans in the Brazilian program Altas Horas, Miss Brazil Julia Gama expressed her desire to pursue an acting career. The 28-year-old, alongside Miss Dominican Republic Kimberly Jimenez, also recently appeared in a talk show for the Latin network Telemundo, where she talked about the pressures of being a beauty queen and how it remains with them even after the pageant has ended. “Now I also feel a little more free, but at the same time we have so many people following us and are [inspired by] everything we do, so I believe that we must still be conscious of what we’re doing,” said Julia. “I try to balance both expressing myself and also being responsible.”

Miss Peru Janick Maceta - Second Runner-Up

Fan favorite Miss Peru Janick Maceta is retiring her pageant hat after her long and succesful Miss Universe journey. According to the Peruvian model, she now plans on focusing all her energy on helping and promoting the NGO Little Heroes, “which supports minors who are victims of sexual violence.” Janick tells Peru 21, “I have given my best on that stage and I have managed to make history. I put my soul, heart, and life for my Peru and I will continue working for my country.”

Miss India Adline Castelino - Third Runner-Up

Indian fans seem to expect Adline Castelino to head towards an acting career in Bollywood, much like the queens that came before her. While that may be a viable path for her, Adline clarified that she’s looking at other pursuits as well that do not involve the entertainment industry. “I am eager to be a businesswoman, look at politics, and Bollywood is something that could happen as one of the things that I do. That’s not the only goal. I have always been interested in multiple things,” she said in an interview with The Quint.

Miss Dominican Republic Kimberly Jimenez - Fourth Runner-Up

ICYDK, Miss Dominican Republic Kimberly Jimenez went home with more than just the fourth runner-up title on her sash. The 25-year-old was given the “Spirit of Carnival” award during this year’s Miss Universe, by Carnival Cruise Line’s president, Christine Duffy. Thanks to this, she’s also been named the godmother of their new ship, the Mardi Gras. As a result, Kimberly is tasked to preside over the ship’s naming ceremony later this year. She’ll also be embarking on the Mardi Gras with Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza as the two engage in the ship’s week-long activities.

Miss Philippines Rabiya Mateo

Of course, this list wouldn’t be complete without the deets on our very own Miss Philippines. Rabiya Mateo, who gracefully ended her run as part of the pageant’s Top 21, shared in a TV interview that she plans on taking a break from social media for a while so she can “get back in shape.” Her fans shouldn’t be worried though, because after she takes her much-needed time off, Rabiya also mentioned that she’s up for entering the world of showbiz and trying her hand at acting. Ever the dedicated beauty queen, she’s also looking forward to help train the next Miss Philippines.
