What Did Miss Universe 2017 Win?
Apart from the coveted crown and sash, obviously.

With the announcement that Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is this year's new Miss Universe, we couldn't help but wonder what she's winning, apart from the coveted title, crown, and sash. (Note that the extensive travels she will pursue in a year’s course are not considered as prizes technically but as part of her job as Miss Universe.) These are the prizes that will be part of this year’s package, according to the Miss Universe web page:

A year-long salary

The salary is part of her contract since she is to be employed by the Miss Universe organization.

Year-long accommodations at a luxury apartment in New York

This includes living expenses. The New York apartment is something that winners have enjoyed for years.

One-year supply of hair care products from Farouk Systems, the makers of CHI Haircare

An entire shoe wardrobe from Chinese Laundry

An essential for any woman, really.

Personalized face chart and products from M.A.C. Cosmetics

A year’s membership to Gravity Fitness at Le Parker Meridien Hotel and hair services from John Barrett Salon

A modeling portfolio

Achieved with the help of leading photographers.

Dermatology and skin care services

And to keep her fit, Miss Universe gets professional health and nutrition consultation. She also gets dental services.

Styling services by the Miss Universe Organization professionals

She’ll never need to worry about her appearance at all the parties she’ll be attending.

Access to casting opportunities, movie premieres, screenings, Broadway shows, and launch parties.

The winner gets a fast pass to all the latest events in the city.

The newly-crowned Miss Universe gets official representation from the Miss Universe Organization. But more than these life-changing prizes, she will also get to change lives and inspire people across the globe. Take a look at last year’s winner, Iris Mittenaere‘s one-year journey with the title.
