The couple first met during a songwriting session in 2017 and got engaged in late 2023. Soon after, EJAE found herself swept up in the success of KPop Demon Hunters, for which she wrote and produced the hit songs and provided vocals for main character Rumi. With press tours, collaborations, and award shows keeping them busy, the couple was only able to turn their attention back to wedding preparations four months before the big day. Their Seoul celebration brought together their love and Korean and Western cultural influences.

The weekend began with a traditional paebaek ceremony, during which the couple donned three different sets of traditional Korean wedding attire. For the first look, EJAE wore a bold red-and-green hanbok with dragon and bird embroidery, while Samuel sported a beige-and-white ensemble.

For the second, Kim paired his black hanbok with a traditional jeongjagwan, while EJAE accessorized her red-and-blue hanbok with floral motifs with a jokduri. The couple later welcomed their guests in more contemporary hanbok ensembles, opting for a more relaxed look and softer pastel color palettes.

EJAE’s Western wedding dress was a collaboration between the bride and Danielle Frankel. Together, they envisioned a soft tulle gown with a strapless neckline, fluted skirt, and asymmetric draping, creating a flattering, flowy silhouette.

EJAE and Samuel incorporated Korean and Western influences not only into their wedding attire but also into their venue and catering. The couple’s welcome party featured Korean fusion cuisine, while their forest-green wedding day culminated in a glasshouse reception where they and their guests partied to their hearts’ content. Fellow KPop Demon Hunters stars Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami attended the wedding, as did Andrew Choi, the singing voice behind Jinu, who also officiated the ceremony.
