Hollywood star Emma Roberts is officially married—and she did so in custom Monique Lhuillier.
The American actress tied the knot with fellow actor Cody John in an intimate wedding in Sun Valley, Idaho, on July 25, wearing a bespoke bridal gown by the Filipina-born designer, who has long been a favorite among Hollywood brides. Emma also changed into an archival Monique Lhuillier look for the after-party, capping off a wedding wardrobe inspired by vintage romance.

The actress collaborated closely with Monique to create a gown that reflected her love for antiques. In an interview with Vogue US, the actress said she wanted the dress to feel “very vintage-inspired,” adding that she was drawn to antique books, treasure hunting, and collecting old ephemera.
Rather than traditional bright white, the gown was crafted from custom-dyed silk chiffon in a soft tea-stained hue that Monique later named “antique rose,” after Emma’s middle name. The couture design featured draped silk chiffon over a structured corset with lightly visible boning, a layered skirt with a slit for ease of movement, and a draped bustle that could be adjusted throughout the reception.
Monique also designed a removable French lace shawl that created an asymmetrical neckline and sweeping train during the ceremony. Once removed, it revealed a strapless silhouette underneath. The bridal ensemble was finished with a chapel-length silk tulle veil and a delicate lace voilette worn across Emma’s eyes. According to Monique’s interview, the gown took nine months and nearly 1,000 hours to complete.
For the reception, Emma transformed the gown by removing some of its layered elements. The convertible design offered five distinct looks, including a strapless silhouette that emerged once the lace shawl was removed.
The celebration continued with a second Monique Lhuillier look—a two-piece archival style from the designer’s Fall 2004 collection. The after-party outfit paired a black Chantilly lace corset with a tea-length skirt made from hand-cut layers of silk organza.
