Dua Lipa Is a Chanel Haute Couture Bride

After recently breaking the internet with her civil wedding photos, Dua Lipa once again took to Instagram to share a series of matrimony snapshots—this time, from her second bridal ceremony in Sicily earlier this month.

For her traditional bridal moment, the global popstar looked to Chanel and went the haute couture route. She even made fashion history—what she wore marked the first Chanel Haute Couture wedding dress designed by Matthieu Blazy for a friend of the House.

Having been the face of the Chanel 25 handbag and having worn Chanel twice to the Met Gala (an archival 1992 bridal dress in 2023 and a custom-made number in 2025), Dua is a long-standing friend of the House.

Giving everyone a reminder of how meticulous haute couture works, Chanel shared where Dua's wedding dress was made and who contributed. "Dua Lipa’s Haute Couture wedding dress has been handcrafted in the ateliers at 31 Rue Cambon. For this unique design, Maisons d’art Atelier Montex, Lemarié, and Lesage also contributed to the making of the dress through the creation of intricate embellishments."

Going deeper into the process, Chanel shared, "For Dua Lipa, the House created a Haute Couture dress entirely hand-embroidered with 480,000 beads by Atelier Montex and trompe l’oeil jewels requiring 1,155 hours of needlework by Lesage. The dress—with a two-metre train—is also delicately underlined with 25,000 feathers by Lemarié."

For the bride's veil, the House wanted to capture the harmony of birds and flowers through the embroidery with beads and feathers and hand-cut organza appliqués. "This exceptional Haute Couture veil required over 3,000 hours of handwork by Maisons d’art Atelier Montex and Lemarié," revealed Chanel.
