There are a myriad of things to consider when planning a wedding in the new normal, but one thing that’s non-negotiable is the size of your party. With the ongoing pandemic, the entire industry has rightfully shifted to intimate celebrations as guests are now kept to the bride and groom’s closest family and friends. Small doesn’t have to mean bare or simple, though. With the right creative minds and opportune venue, you can still have the fairytale wedding you’ve always envisioned.
To start you off, here are eight charming places in and around Manila that are perfect for your intimate nuptials.
1. Whitespace Manila
Brides who know exactly what they want on their big day might want to consider Whitespace Manila. This events venue houses three blank, all-white halls ready to be dressed up for the Pinterest-worthy wedding of your dreams. Before the new normal, their smallest hall could accommodate around 150 guests, but much like everywhere else, Whitespace now implements strict IATF guidelines and currently operates at a limited capacity.

2. Las Casas Quezon City
Boasting of 18th century Spanish-Filipino houses turned event spaces, we’ve all heard of the famous Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar in Bataan. But did you know the heritage business has opened a similar estate right in Quezon City as well? Couples can tie the knot at the St. Joseph Chapel located within the property, before taking their small guest list either to Las Casas QC’s plaza, garden, or their elegantly furnished Casa Juico for an intimate afterparty, Old Manila style.
FYI, Las Casas QC offers a package designed especially for intimate weddings. For bookings and more information, you may email them at banquet@lascasasqc.com, or visit their website.

5. Burrow Cafe
Where else could be more intimate than a secluded cafe in Antipolo? The city’s best kept secret, this rustic haven is located just 95 steps below events venue Antipolo Beehouse. Apart from its wooden interiors, Burrow Cafe is also surrounded by lush greenery that can be enjoyed by guests through their tall floor-to-ceiling panel windows. If you want to take your dream garden wedding indoors, this cafe and restaurant is the place to book. Of course, they also have an actual outdoor garden venue if that’s more your speed.

6. Timmy in the Woods
Timmy in the Woods is yet another underrated gem in Antipolo. Described as a “tropical modernist villa,” the venue is tucked away in the city’s Goldenhills Subdivision, far from the hustle and bustle of the Metro. ICYDK, before Dani Barretto and Xavi Panlilio tied the knot in 2019, they first held their gorgeous, rustic-themed prenup shoot here. So you can bet that aside from being undeniably IG-worthy, it’s celebrity-approved, too!

7. Pinto Art Museum
It’s true, you can get married at an art gallery just like in the movies. Pinto weddings are often held at their garden venue or their roof deck, but with the museum’s impressive exteriors as your backdrop, the stunning artworks inside are just a bonus. Plus, with the current situation, al fresco’s the safest way to go. As for their wedding package, Pinto allows up to 50 people, inclusive of all your guests and suppliers, such as cameramen, makeup and wardrobe, and organizers.

You can do it all at Casa Fuente, from photoshoots, to ceremonies, and receptions. Case in point, what used to be a man-made fish pond at the back of the premises has been turned into a veranda to accommodate intimate weddings with at least 40 guests. Apart from the on-the-day festivities, the couple and a few of their entourage may opt to stay overnight for wedding prep before the big day. This is inclusive of the Groom’s Suite, three Family Rooms, use of the swimming pool, and free breakfast.
