If there’s a fruit we’re currently obsessed with, it would have to be avocados. Ever since we found out that the creamy fruit is actually a super food that provides over twenty essential nutrients, we got hooked. Below are fool-proof and easy-to-make recipes you can try whether you’re into sweet, savory, or both. Healthy and delicious dishes, here we go!

Avocado Bacon Sandwich

Ingredients:

Sourdough bread, toasted

Bacon, cooked (fried or baked is fine)

Avocado, peeled, pitted and sliced

1 red onion, sliced thinly

Vinegar of your choice

Salt and sugar

Procedure: 

1. To make quick pickled onions, place sliced onions into a bowl. Add a teaspoon, half of the salt, and a tablespoon of sugar. Add just enough vinegar to cover. Stir to dissolve salt and sugar. Set aside for 15-20 minutes.

2. Toast bread. Top with bacon, followed by avocado slices. Season with salt and pepper, then top with pickled onions

Easy Guacamole

Ingredients:

2 ripe avocados

1 lime

1 small handful chopped cilantro/coriander, chopped

1 small white onion, roughly diced

Salt and pepper

Procedure: 

1. Prep avocados. Add the juice of the lime to prevent browning and to add acidity.

2. Mash with the back of a fork. Add onion, cilantro and mix. Season to taste. Serve with chips and an extra lime wedge. 

Avocado-Chocolate Pudding

Ingredients:

1-2 ripe avocados

½ cup honey or agave syrup

¼ cup cocoa powder

1 pinch salt

1 splash of vanilla

Procedure: 

Add prepped avocado, honey and cocoa powder into a bowl. Blend using your hand or a blender until nice and smooth. And a pinch of salt and a splash of vanilla. Taste and adjust sweetness, depending on the ripeness and bitterness of the avocado.
