Growing up, us Filipinos have been told time and time again about the beauty that is Palawan. Especially if you've already experienced it yourself, you would never find the heart to protest against that known fact. Part of it is a UNESCO heritage site, after all.
For foreigners, however, it's a whole other ball game. Most of them would have to see it to believe it. Although of course, when it comes to Palawan, they're rarely disappointed.
Even the seasoned travelers at Vogue.com aren't exempt from the island's charm. The website recently published a travel guide for it, including the must-sees in Coron and Pamalican.
In it, Vogue.com writer Kathryn Romeyn also compares the crystal clear waters and beaches of Palawan to that of another famous destination. "For one, its islands are simply stunning, and yet not overwhelmed by tourism," she writes. "By way of comparison, Palawan’s beaches, water, and aquatic species most closely resemble those in the Indian Ocean’s most famed collection of atolls, the Maldives."
The article took its readers to Manila as well, listing must-visit shopping destinations. Lifestyle curators Lanai and Aphro were their picks for unique local finds that are the stylish girl's dream souvenirs.
Now we're even more tempted to book a flight and go shopping!
