The 2022 Met Gala, a.k.a. fashion’s biggest red carpet, is the current talk of the town, but not in the ways you’d think.
While the event initially created buzz for its promising “Gilded Glamour” theme, onlookers on the internet were left disappointed when most of the invited guests turned up in garbs not fitting of the “grandeur” the invitation called for.
One individual from the press, however, knew exactly what to do with the assignment. Meet Genesis Suero, the reporter going viral on social media for upstaging celebrities in her gold and white, regency-inspired Lucia Rodriguez gown.
It was easy to spot Genesis from the crowd despite the congregation of big stars surrounding her, in what’s now being dubbed as a “Cinderella moment." After all, her intricately beaded and embroidered frock, which features a bustier top, a ball skirt, and sheer puff sleeves, is hard to miss.

Genesis’ name is currently making rounds online alongside the few guests who actually followed the Gilded Glamour theme, including Blake Lively, Billie Eilish, and Laura Harrier.
A correspondent for the American-Spanish TV network Telemundo, the reporter revived her Twitter page to acknowledge all the praises she’s been getting for her Met Gala look. “Thank you for all of your beautiful and kind messages,” she wrote.
FYI, Genesis isn’t exactly new to the spotlight. With her high cheekbones, sharp features, and magnificent presence on the red carpet, it might come as no surprise to find that she’s actually a beauty queen. Prior to this, the Dominican-American was best known for winning the Miss New York USA pageant back in 2018.
Suffice to say, her newfound fame is totally well-deserved!
