No need to fly out of the country.

Given the current situation it’s practically a given that traveling overseas is a no-go for the time being. Thankfully, the Philippines isn’t short on tourist attractions that can give their international counterparts a run for their money. Take Villa Jovita, for example. Who needs to fly all the way to Indonesia when you can visit the country’s own personal Bali in Batangas?

First established in November 2017, this private property was soon turned into an IG-worthy resort after its owners recognized its striking resemblance to Bali. Taking advantage of this fact, they came up with the Bali Corner, an area in the resort that features lookalikes of famous tourist spots one would usually find in the famous Indonesian island. This includes a giant swing overlooking rice paddies, a human-sized bird’s nest, and hanging nest pods ready for your picture-perfect IG moment.

Additionally, Villa Jovita also has a treat for Lord of the Rings fans. The resort recently opened a set of cottages which resemble the Hobbit houses made famous by J.R.R. Tolkien’s novels and movies. Dubbed the “Hobbiton,” these cabins were modeled straight from the original movie set attraction in New Zealand.

You have to check out the side-by-side comparison below.

While pretty to look at and ideal for photoshoots, take note that these cabins aren’t available for lodging. “It might be considered unfortunate that these hobbit houses are not made for stay-in guests but we made it that way for some reasons,” explained Villa Jovita to Preview. “It will be hard to stay in a cabin with a lot of people taking pictures outside. It might also compromise the guests' comfort."That said, they did reveal that the resort’s owners are currently in the process of erecting livable Hobbit-style units in the future.

Guests can visit Villa Jovita for a day tour between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For booking and more information, message their official Facebook page.

Villa Jovita is located at Santa Cruz, Agoncillo, Batangas.
