Siargao has long been celebrated as the surfing capital of the Philippines, but beyond the barrel waves and Cloud 9 fame, the island offers stretches of powdery white beaches, turquoise waters, and swaths of mangrove forest. On its southern coast sits Nay Palad Hideaway, a resort noted by the Michelin Guide as “low-key, sustainably built.”

With its wooden pagoda, sea-to-plate meals, and barefoot wellness, the resort encourages slow days and simple pleasures. Ahead, we break down the villas, rates, and experiences that define a stay here.

What Is Nay Palad Hideaway?

The resort sits on Siargao’s southeastern tip, between two different marine environments. One side faces the Pacific Ocean and a quiet white-sand beach, while the other opens onto six square kilometers of mangrove forests and waterways.

The Michelin Guide highlights the resort’s ability to merge comfort with nature: “Step into the reception pavilion, airy and geometric, built with local materials carved from indigenous wood to woven coconut leaves. Pop by the cool circular bar for rum cocktails, or recover from the trip in a dreamy sunken lounge…or just retreat to your private villa and face-plant onto the king-sized bed.”

Founded by Bobby Dekeyser, a former professional soccer player and founder of the outdoor furniture brand DEDON, Nay Palad embraces the philosophy of Barefoot Luxury, combining freedom, comfort, and understated design. The founder wanted to share a renewed vision of hospitality, while architect Daniel Pouzet, who worked on both the original build and the post-typhoon reconstruction, emphasizes that the resort offers spaces for comfort and freedom for guests and their friends and family.
