The Plot

Based on a webtoon of the same name, Tomorrow tells the story of Choi Jun-woong, a privileged young man who seems to have it all. However, everything he knows about life is completely upended when he’s caught in an unfortunate incident while job hunting. During this, he crosses paths with two powerful grim reapers, but instead of taking souls away, these angels of death are working to save humans contemplating suicide. Jun-woong soon gets embroiled in their affairs, determined to help the reapers accomplish their missions.

The Cast

Tomorrow stars SF9’s Rowoon as Choi Jun-woong, a graduate from a prestigious university who’s supported by his wealthy parents. Although Rowoon debuted as a K-pop idol, he already has a number of dramas under his belt as part of the main cast. The list includes School 2017, Extraordinary You, She Would Never Know, and The King’s Affection

When asked why he was cast in the show, director Kim Tae Yoon explained, “Out of all the actors in their twenties, he’s the actor who most resembles the character of Jun-Woong. I think Rowoon is an outstanding actor who can portray Joon Woong’s unique vivaciousness, cheekiness, and relatability.”

Meanwhile, playing one of the reapers is Kim Hee Sun (Alice, The Lady in Dignity), who reportedly shocked the show’s crew with her major transformation for the drama. To fully embody the fierce ice queen Goo Ryun, Hee Sun rocked a new style on set by cutting her hair short and dying it a striking shade of pink.

Lee Soo Hyuk and Yoon Ji On play Park Joong-gil and Im Ryung-goo respectively, the last two reapers in the lead cast. Where Ryung-goo is an indifferent character who otherwise helps Goo Ryun save lives, Joong-gil is an uptight stickler for the rules who disapproves of her work, causing tension between the two.
