"With this, I really just wanted to pull the curtain back, and show my real life, and talk about things that are very hard to talk about," Paris Hilton solemnly says during a press conference for her YouTube Originals documentary This is Paris. We know the Hilton Hotels heiress for her candor, the rotation of toy dogs that's always by her side, her short-lived music career, and her appearance on The Simple Life in 2003. But in this interview, she says we're about to learn more. "Anything I've ever done before was more of me just playing that character again.
Three years ago, Paris spoke up about her image as a "dumb blonde," which she reposted on her Instagram yesterday. "I didn't get this far being a dumb blonde, just pretending to be [one]. I tricked you all." She then proceeds to detail the many products and merchandise that her empire has built.
This is Paris is set to premiere in May, during the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, where it sits as the official entry to the Spotlight Documentary category.
To create the documentary, Emmy Award-winning director Alexandra Dean tailed Paris for a year to uncover its subject's intimate day-to-day. It will also feature interviews to those closest to her, such as her mother Kathy Hilton, and her younger sister Nicky Hilton Rothschild.
