Visit the Land of the Free!

Mario Maurer is back in town! But it’s not for another movie or a modeling stint. In fact, he’s here to invite us to his homeland, Thailand. As the newest ambassador of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Mario is the face of a brand new campaign dubbed as Experience Thailand with Mario Maurer.

In a press event, Mario, together with TAT, invited Filipinos to take a peek into the Land of the Free. Promising an all-year-round access to the booming city, the heartthrob lists down five things we can look forward to when visiting Thailand.

Food

Mario shares his top three dishes that he would like us to try. It includes Pad Thai, a local stir-fried noodle dish; Tom Yum Kung, a spicy shrimp soup dish; and Som Tam, or papaya salad. He even gives us a pro tip: Ask the chef to lessen the chili!

Floating Market

He also recommends looking into the river life in Amphawa. Take shopping to a whole new level with their famous floating market!

Massage

They also have a one-of-a-kind wellness experience. Get a massage while treating your eyes to the sceneries around. What makes it special, you ask? You’re riding a boat on the river!

Adventure

For adrenaline junkies, Thailand has a lot in store for you! Mario recommends zip lining. Or try to catch a car race while you’re in Pattaya. If you’re a kid at heart, visit their amusement parks, too.

Culture

Of course, when you visit Thailand, it’s imperative you immerse yourself in their culture! Visit old temples and their old town. Mario says that Thailand boasts a very diverse culture, having 12 hidden gem cities that you can explore.

Mario assures that we Filipinos won’t have any trouble interacting with the locals as we have similarities in these areas: hospitality, respect for elders, and high regard for our religion.
