The thing about coffee is that it's not just about getting your caffeine fix in so you can get going on a groggy Monday. There's a whole realm dedicated to exploring how beans from different origins, roasting times, and the like—as well as different brewing methods—impact the resulting cup. When in Hong Kong and looking to learn more about coffee, The Coffee Academics is the place to visit—and the good news is that they're coming to our shores. That's right: This popular coffee shop will be opening their first Philippine branch in September, at High Street South Corporate Plaza in Bonifacio Global City.

In the upcoming Philippine branch, you can look forward to drinks that include classics like the Espresso and Flat White. What you really don't want to miss are the signature lattes—namely the sweet-peppery Agave, palm-sugar sweetened Jawa, Japanese-inspired Okinawa, and Manuka-honey infused Manuka.
Over in Hong Kong, The Coffee Academics is a go-to for great specialty cups of joe with coffee beans that they roast locally. In the Philippine branch, you can look forward to drinks that range from classics like the Espresso and Flat White, to their signature lattes—namely the sweet-peppery Agave, palm-sugar sweetened Jawa, Japanese-inspired Okinawa, and Manuka-honey infused Manuka.
Since opening in 2012, they've bagged numerous awards and accolades—including ranking first for specialty coffee in Hong Kong in a 2017 report by research firm Frost and Sullivan, and being hailed the Favourite Restaurant in Hong Kong at the Asia Miles Members' Choice Awards in 2019. And then there's the chill and cozy ambience that makes them a great place to hang out in, any time of the day!
Outside Hong Kong (where they currently have 18 stores), they've also got branches in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. We can't wait to see what they've got under their sleeves for the Manila branch, which is opening on September 7.
