It's time to support and celebrate local Filipino cinema once again this coming September 13 to 19 with Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino's third year. Haven't settled on which films to catch near your local cinemas yet? Check out the full list of entries this year, below!


With a star-studded veteran cast led by Anita Linda, Gina Alajar, Jaclyn Jose, Elizabeth Oropesa, and Ricky Davao, is the story of a once-famous movie producer with one last wish. For her 100th birthday Doña Atang hopes to be reunited with all the actors and film crew she's ever worked with in the past. Her grandson, played by Enchong Dee, an aspiring director, takes the task upon himself, looking to understand the Filipino film industry more as he does so. The film also includes a a "special participation" by the late celebrated actor Eddie Garcia.

Cuddle Weather

An experienced prostitute and a newbie call-boy find "love at first sound" when they orgasm to each other's moans while having boring paid sex in adjacent rooms. The two soon meet and develop a mentor-mentee relationship that, to their inconvenience, might possibly develop into something both of them aren't ready for. Directed by Rod Marmol, Cuddle Weather stars Sue Ramirez and RK Bagatsing.



In a bid to fulfill his bucketlist before he dies, a promising teen who falls ill with cancer embarks on a journey with his three best friends. On their road to realizing the real meaning of friendship, life, and love, things unexpectedly take a dark turn. The film stars Mccoy De Leon, Jameson Blake, Paulo Angeles, and Mark Oblea, as directed by Dondon Santos.

I'm Ellenya L. 

Touted as a movie that characterizes this generation's social media millenial, I'm Ellenya L. centers on Ellenya, a 21-year-old self-proclaimed vlogger hoping to make it big as an influencer. However, in her hunger for the spotlight, this young fame-seeker ends up going viral for all the wrong reasons. Directed by Boy 2 Quizon, the film stars Maris Racal and Iñigo Pascual

Lola Igna

Directed by Eduardo Roy Jr., this charming film tells the story of Lola Igna who, at 118-years old, is awarded the title of 'The Oldest Living Grandmother in the World." Jaded and irritated at the spectacle around her at first, everything changes when she's reunited with her estranged grandson.

On the way to catch their favorite indie-pop band live, two strangers meet on a bus and find themselves "in a series of almost-but-not-quite-romantic encounters." Set to the music of Ben & Ben, this music-driven film on love and loss star Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos, as directed by Jade Castro.


Starring JC Santos, Arci Muñoz, Ina Raymundo, and Sofia Andres, a long-time couple who've grown tired of their stale partnership, attempt to save whatever they have left by entering into an open relationship with other people. 


While waiting for new work, an OFW returns home and is made to take care of her ageing, difficult, and hearing-impaired mother. In the course of her stay, she's soon faced with the realities of everything she's missed while she was away.

The Panti Sisters

Known for his heartwarming comedy-drama movie Die Beautiful, Jun Robles Lana returns as the director for The Panti Sisters. Starring Paolo Ballesteros, Christian Bables, and Martin del Rosario, the Black Sheep film centers on the relationship between three gay siblings and their dying father. His last wish? For one of them to bear him a child. The idea sounds absurd at first, but the siblings soon relent when their father offers up P100 million for whoever fulfills his dying wish first.


Watch Me Kill

Written and directed by T.A. Acierto, the movie follows the life of a contracted killer played by Jean Garcia. In the middle of yet another job, her life drastically changes when she decides to save the young daughter of the person she'd been hired to kill.
