While tourism has taken a big hit amid the pandemic, industry players are optimistic they will bounce back—especially with the Filipinos' love for exciting travels, indulgent stays, and romantic escapes. And to give you more staycation options, Hotel Okura Manila at Resorts World Manila in Pasay City is opening their doors on December 28 with discounted room rates in celebration of the holiday season.
Designed with a Japanese-inspired aesthetic, Hotel Okura Manila features an 18-meter-high atrium lobby surrounded by natural elements such as wood and stone complemented by a minimalist garden. It imbibes omotenashi (Japanese hospitality), which is all about honest service. "Omote" refers to the image you want to present to others, while "nashi" means nothing—no hiding, no pretending.
Their Hinoku-Yu Rooms feature hinoki (Japanese cypress) wooden bathtubs handcrafted by Japanese artisans from the mountainous Nagiso Town, separate areas for bathtub and rainfall shower, multimedia amenities, and a Nespresso machine. Of course, there's the high-tech Japanese bidet, which has buttons for most of your toilet needs.
Hotel Okura's topmost floor houses the fitness center, a 20-meter pool overlooking the city, and the health club's jet baths. For dining, guests have two options: Yamazato, which is a fine dining restaurant that serves authentic Japanese cuisine; and Yawaragi, which is an all-day dining outlet that has Japanese-oriented food as well as Western and Asian specialties.
Holiday room offers start at P11,888 nett, which already includes an overnight stay for two in a Deluxe Room, signature welcome drinks, in-room dining breakfast sets, and set lunch bentos at Yamazato. You can level up your experience and book the Hinoki-yu Room for P12,888 nett. Aside from welcome drinks and complimentary breakfast, the package includes P3,000 dining credits and 20% discount on in-room dining. These promos are valid for stays from December 28 to January 15.
Hotel Okura is at 2 Portwood St. (formerly Palm Drive), Resorts World Manila, Newport City, Pasay City. It opens on December 28. For more information, visit Hotel Okura's website.
