When at Starbucks, it doesn't get any cooler than their Frappuccinos—their iced-blended drinks (some versions of which have coffee) that are hailed for their cold and creamy consistency. What's also great about Frappuccinos is their versatility: We'll take the classic Coffee Frappuccino any day, but Starbucks has also come out with plenty of standout variations in different parts of the globe, including the Lemon Bar Frappuccino in the U.S. and the Avocado Frappuccino in Korea! They're continuing to prove that point further as they're celebrating their 25th anniversary in Japan by coming out with a whopping 47 Frappuccino flavors, based on the country's different prefectures.

Dubbed the 47JIMOTO Frappuccino campaign, the 47-flavor collection will be making its way to Starbucks stores around Japan and will be available for a limited time. Each prefecture gets its own one-of-a-kind drink developed by local partners, featuring flavors of different delicacies, fruits, and other eats that these areas are known for.

Check out these Japanese Starbucks Frappuccino flavors as part of the 47JIMOTO Frappuccino campaign:

The HOKKAIDO Tokibi Creamy Frappuccino Blended Cream, for example, highlights Tokibi corn and fresh milk (which are some the area's best-known exports!). Meanwhile, the MIYAGI Datcha Zunda Matcha Frappuccino Blended Cream puts the spotlight on the local favorite known as zunda, or sweetened mashed edamame, blended with a matcha sauce for a nutty-earthy mix.

Local fruits are on the spotlight as well—the IBARAKI Melon Igappe Creamy Frappuccino Blended Cream is all about the uber-sweet honeydew melons. The WAKAYAMA Tsuremotenomora Mikan Citrus Frappuccino Blended Cream, on the other hand, puts the spotlight on mikan (a Japanese tangerine-like citrus fruit), with Wakayama being Japan’s largest mikan producer.

Green tea fans are in for a treat with the KYOTO Hannari Matcha Kinako Frappuccino Blended Cream, featuring kinako (roasted soybean powder) and matcha green tea. There's also the OKINAWA Kari Chinsuko Vanilla Caramel Frappuccino Blended Cream with Okinawa's famed chinsuko shortbread biscuits, and the one-of-a-kind CHIBA Nagomi Mitarashi Coffee Frappuccino Blended Cream which has mitarashi (a.k.a. sweetened soy sauce) in the mix!

These drinks will only be available in Japan, but we can't help but wish they'd come out with a similar concept here in the Philippines (a 7,107-Frappuccino line, anyone?). For now, we'll be sipping on the velvety Choux Cream Frappuccinos that are currently still available at our local Starbucks stores.
