The Plot

As the title suggests, Weather People follows the turbulent lives of the employees at the Korea Meteorological Administration, a.k.a. the country’s national weather forecast service. At the center of it is Min Young as Jin Ha-kyung, a brilliant individual who’s a stickler for following the rules and doing everything by the book. Although she’s adamant about keeping her personal affairs separate from work, her life is thrown for a loop when she grows close with her fellow worker Lee Si-woo.

The Cast

Starring opposite Min Young, Song Kang will play Lee Si-woo, a free-spirited special reporter with an IQ of 150, who just so happens to be Ha-kyung’s polar opposite. Despite his impressive attributes, he tends to come off as clumsy and cares for nothing else but his job and the weather.

Rounding up the main cast are Yoon Park (You Are My Spring) and Girl’s Day’s Yura (Now We Are Breaking Up), who both previously starred together in Kim So Hyun’s 2018 drama Radio Romance. The former will step into the shoes of the quick-witted Han Ki-joon, a persuasive model worker who’s otherwise terrified of failing.

The Release Date

While there’s no exact date yet, Weather People’s first episode is set to premiere on JTBC this February 2022. There’s also no word on which streaming sites will carry the drama but we’re keeping our fingers crossed it’ll be on one we’re already subscribed to.
