We've got some amazing K-drama news for you: Song Hye Kyo is reportedly in talks to star in a brand new drama. She was last seen on the small screen in 2018's Encounter alongside Park Bo Gum, and it seems like our two-year wait might finally be over!
According to Soompi, the new drama's current working title is Now, We Are Breaking Up. Coincidentally, Hye Kyo also went through her own breakup last year when she divorced her husband and Descendants of the Sun co-star Song Joong Ki. But that part of her life is over and done, and now we have this project to look forward to because her agency, UAA, confirmed that she is "considering" the drama.
That said, we know you're curious to know what Now, We Are Breaking Up is all about, so read on below!
What's the plot?
Now, We Are Breaking Up is set in the fashion world and revolves around Ha Young Eun, a 38-year-old design team leader at a fashion label. She is described as a "cold-hearted realist who is also smart and prioritizes safety above all things… She is clear about reaping the rewards for her own work, and she doesn't waste time getting emotional over men." Who will be part of the cast?
Song Hye Kyo is in talks to play the lead character Ha Young Eun. Actors Soo Ae and Yoo Tae Oh both previously turned down offers to be part of the drama, so we'll still have to wait and see who will potentially join her in the cast.
Who will take charge of the production team?
Now, We Are Breaking Up will be directed by Lee Gil Bok, who worked as a cinematographer for My Love from the Star (2013) and Vagabond (2019) among others. The drama will be written by Misty (2018) screenwriter, Je In.
Stay tuned for more updates!
