The days of the closed-off lifestyles of the rich and famous are long gone. Social media feeds and vlogs have opened the doors to lives that most weren’t privy to, but still, the mystique stays the same.
Nothing could best typify this allure than socialities, who, once upon a time, graced society pages. Now, they’re the master of their own stories, thanks to the internet and their personal pages. The best proof is probably none other than entrepreneur and old-money scion Small Laude, whose "crazy rich" life has been widely documented in her vlogs—and endearing subscribers.
There’s no doubt that viewers are in awe for her larger-than-life way of living—but what does she exactly spend her fortune on?
Who is Small Laude?

Born Marissa Eduardo, Small has a marriage more-than-two-decades strong with business tycoon Philip Laude, the scion of famous confectionary makers in the country. They started their love story through a mutual friend, and now have four children: Christopher, Michael, Timothy, and Allison.

Small isn’t a stranger to the heiress lifestyle pre-marriage, however, as her own family owns a roster of businesses, including garment exports, rice milling, and rice trading. Her older sisters Melba and Alice are business heads as well, with her Ate Alice being the founder and CEO of Sta. Elena Construction and Development Corporation. Their project list includes a number of notable large-scale properties in the country, such as SM Mall of Asia, SM Seaside Cebu, Solaire Resort and Casino, and City of Dreams.
The Laudes also have a hand in several business together like tarpaulin maker Timson Printing and brokerage firm Timson Securities, with the couple taking the president and vice president roles.
Here’s what socialite Small Laude spends her fortune on:
A lavish six-story home

With their dossier full of thriving businesses, it’s no wonder they’ve enjoyed the fruits of their success. One of them is their luxurious six-story home, with the lot gifted by Small’s mother-in-law. A brainchild of sought-after architect Ed Calma, the lot previously housed Small’s preschool. Now, what stands is a tropical-inspired contemporary home.
According to reports, the house includes five bedrooms, a study room, pool area, home gym, a garden, gazebo, a massive art collection, and even scenic elevators!
/p>Aside from her Philippine sanctuary, Small and family also call a Beverly Hills mansion home, which is a neoclassical abode with a large garden and a lap pool—a fitting place for her, given that Los Angeles is also her favorite fashion spot.
An impressive designer wardrobe

Speaking of which, Small’s big named-closet is definitely not a secret, as it’s been widely displayed from her ‘gram OOTDs to her closet tours. In several vlogs, she lists her collection of ultra-exclusive Hermès bags as some of her go-to arm candy, like the Birkin 30 Himalayan bag, which now comes with a price tag of $250,000 or approximately P14,719,000!
High society parties

Not only has she tightly knit with homegrown celebrities and personalities like Vicki Belo and Karen Davila, the socialites has also made her rounds in the international party scene, rubbing shoulders with names like John Legend, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Mohamed Hadid, real estate tycoon and dad to supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid. Small is a frequent name spotted in exclusive guest lists, including LACMA’s Art and Film Gala.
Her kids’ international school education
The Laude brood’s alma maters are also the educational creme of the crop, and they have the brains to boot! One such case is Small and Philip’s youngest daughter Allison, who earned high honors while as a student in the prestigious International School Manila. The institute comes with a hefty price tag, too—the annual tuition starts at P496,000 for high school students!
Luxurious travel destinations

With first class tickets in five-star airlines like Emirates, the Laude matriarch is a frequent flier if her YouTube channel is proof enough. From shopping in Madrid with her whole family, heading to Bangkok to satisfy a mango sticky rice craving, to Tiffany and Co. events in Tokyo, her passport is thoroughly stamped!
Philanthropic work

Small is the definition of blessed, but best believe she’s the type to pass it on! The vlogger-entrepreneur gives it back with charity work, like when she and Alice gifted groceries to the people of Payatas.
