When the K-drama Sky Castle premiered in 2018, it became the smashing TV hit of the year. In fact, it was such a massive success that it held the title as the highest-rated Korean drama of all time from 2019 to 2020.
Sky Castle revolves around the lives of four families who live in the ultra-exclusive residential complex called Sky Castle. It highlighted how helicopter parents would do almost anything just to secure their child a spot in Korea's top universities. Intimidation, deceit, manipulation—yup, just the winning formula of any Sky Castle parent.
With all the major plot twists in the storyline, the drama was addictive, no doubt, but its impeccably talented ensemble of actors brought so much more depth and humanity to the characters they played. Here, we take a look at what most of the cast has been doing since Sky Castle went off the air in 2019.
Yum Jung Ah
Yum Jung Ah has been acting in dramas since the early '90s. Although she hasn't appeared in any dramas after Sky Castle, in August 2019, she starred in the survival reality show Three Meals A Day: Mountain Village.
Lee Tae Ran
After Sky Castle, Lee Tae Ran hasn't worked in any drama or film projects, but she did launch her own YouTube channel in late 2019. Based on her Instagram, she's been keeping busy spending time with her family, supporting her industry friends' projects, and traveling the world.
Yoon Se Ah is a proud dog mom of two and frequently shows them off on her Instagram account. But apart from her fun home activities (cooking, working out, and playing with her dogs), Se Ah has had consistent work on TV. She also starred in Three Meals A Day: Mountain Village with Yum Jung Ah, alongside Park So Dam. After Sky Castle, she was cast in the 2019 drama Melting Me Softly which starred Ji Chang Wook.
Kim Seo Hyung
Kim Seo Hyung's next drama after Sky Castle was also a smash hit. In the 2020 crime drama Nobody Knows, Seo Hyung starred as a detective who sought to find the truth behind her friend's death 19 years ago. IRL though, Seo Hyung is also a dog mom and frequently brings her little one with her to work.
Oh Na Ra joined her Sky Castle co-stars Yum Jung Ah and Yoon Se Ah when she made a guest appearance in their survival reality show Three Meals A Day: Mountain Village. In December 2019, she made her drama comeback in the thriller series Woman Of 9.9 Billion, which starred Cho Yeo Jeong and Kim Kang Woo.
After Sky Castle, Kim Hye Yoon landed her first lead drama role in the teen fantasy romance Extraordinary You, co-starring Rowoon of K-pop boy group SF9. Things are looking up for the rising star 'cause she's currently filming her new movie The Girl Riding A Bulldozer.
Cha Ni or Kang Chan Hee isn't only an actor but a K-pop idol as well. After Sky Castle, Cha Ni focused on his commitments with his group SF9. In January 2020, SF9 released their first studio album First Collection, with the title track "Good Guy."
Kim Dong Hee has been nabbing huge acting projects after his stint in Sky Castle. In January 2020, Dong Hee played a supporting role in the Park Seo Joon-led top-rating drama, Itaewon Class. And in April, he landed his first lead role in the teen crime Netflix Original series Extracurricular.
Kim Bo Ra
Just like the other young Sky Castle actors, Kim Bo Ra also got cast in major projects. In 2019, she was part of the drama Her Private Life, headlined by Park Min Young and Kim Jae Wook. In January 2020, Bo Ra then starred as the lead in the rom-com series Touch, alongside Joo Sang Wook.
