It's been a couple of months since Swedish shop IKEA opened their doors on our shores—specifically over at Pasay, which just so happens to be their largest store in the world too. It's the kind of place where you'll definitely be getting plenty of physical activity in and in between hours of shopping you'll definitely want to refuel. Apart from their in-house restaurant, café, and market we've got another spot you don't want to miss: check out the recently opened IKEA branch of Single Origin!

You'll want to drop by the new IKEA Philippines branch of Single Origin:
Single Origin's IKEA branch is located on the ground floor and sports a vibrant look well worth visiting for the experience—or for the 'Gram. As opposed to the more rustic and industrial vibe Single Origin's other locations go for, the IKEA branch goes for a snazzier, more chic feel with elements of wood and glass and other dark yet sleek fixtures. On the walls are framed art pieces, too, that breathe hominess to the space.

As the restaurant is open from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. from Sundays to Wednesdays, and from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. from Thursdays to Saturdays, it's also a great space for whatever time of the day—in the morning to gear up; for a mid-day cup of coffee; for replenishment after hours of shopping; or even for a sweet treat just because. Consistent with their round-the-clock opening schedule, the IKEA branch of Single Origin also boasts a varied menu with excellent eats and sips for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between.
Single Origin is best known for their cups of joe and you'll find that well-represented here with their well-rounded coffee selection. They've got you covered whether you're after a simple but stellar Flat White (P170) or more elaborate Salted Caramel Latte (P180/hot, P200/iced), both of which go wonderfully with their fan-favorite Strawberry Cream Cheese Waffles (P420) with whipped cream cheese, sliced berries, and maple syrup.

For a real hearty bite that'll definitely pump you up for a whole day's worth of shopping, the new S.O. Big Breakfast (P695) is a must-try—you'll be spoiled for choice here as it's got everything from their homemade corned beef to thick-cut smoked bacon, scrambled eggs, breakfast beans, mushrooms, a side salad, and toast on a grand plate you can share or down solo (no judgment). Alternatively there are the lighter but nevertheless satisfying smoothie bowls—among which is the uber-vibrant Mixed Berries (P360) topped with granola and banana and strawberry slices.

Of course, if it's a full-on lunch or dinner you crave, you'll be happy to know they've got plenty of savory meal options as well! Start light with the BLT Salad (P380) with bacon, mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and a zippy mustard-honey vinaigrette before progressing to the Truffle Pizza (P480) that's got an earthy blend of truffle, mushrooms, and mozzarella and parmesan cheeses on their signature beer-dough crust. Really hungry? Try the Roast Beef Plate (P780) with roast ribeye plus mashed potatoes and a side salad, or fill up with the S.O. Burger (P525) that's got a wagyu patty plus emmental cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles.

Looking to celebrate a long week at work... or just feel like having a bit more of a skip in your step? Single Origin's got dranks, folks—think fun spins on classic libations like the Perfect Serve Gin and Tonic (P340) that's got strawberry and black pepper along with the gin and tonic, and the tropical-tasting Jungle Jerry (P640) with rum, pineapple juice, Campari, ginger ale, and lime juice. And don't you forget dessert; among the must-try sweet plates here are the decidedly decadent Death by Chocolate French toast (P470) with chocolate brioche brought to sinful-AF heights with candied walnuts, chocolate and white chocolate ganache, a ball of Ferrero Rocher, and maple syrup.

Single Origin's IKEA branch is at G/F IKEA Building, Marina Way, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. You can also check out their Facebook page.
