A K-drama that's equal parts history and fantasy, Alchemy of Souls has been one of the most talked about TV series on Netflix for weeks now. If not for the mind-boggling plot twists, or the gush-worthy romance between Lee Jae Wook and Jung So Min, it's the show's extensive cast of supporting characters that has viewers hooked with every episode. Among them is Shin Seung Ho, who brought to life the charismatic crown prince Go Won.

Sans the hanbok and the tied up hair, Seung Ho is but simply a rookie actor that's steadily making his way into the mainstream scene—but then again, he has already been recognized by the Baeksang Arts Awards, so we guess he's already had quite the headstart. 1. Shin Seung Ho is a Scorpio
Seung Ho was born on November 11, 1995 in the Gyeonggi Province of South Korea.
2. Shin Seung Ho is a physical education graduate
Seong Ho's first love in life was football. He first started playing the sport in middle school, which inspired him to take up a degree in physical education at the Dong-Eui University. Come sophomore year, he gave his cleats a break after realizing he had a shift in passions.

3. Shin Seung Ho is a model
After saying an indefinite goodbye to football, Seung Ho tried his hand at modelling, and joined the SBS Supermodel Contest in 2016. He found himself victorious at the competition, and got to walk the runway for Seoul Fashion Week the following year.

4. Shin Seung Ho is a health buff
Given his athletic prowess and evidently charming looks, a talent scout told Seung Ho that his appearance was better fit for acting than modelling. Even if he may not be on the field or on the ramp as often nowadays, he still maintains a chiseled figure by jogging and deadlifting.
5. Shin Seung Ho is in the same talent agency as Kim Bum and Lee Dong Wook

Seung Ho's foray into acting began with the high school web series A-Teen. The coming-of-age series tackled good o'l teenage drama and young romance, with Seung Ho, Shin Ye Eun, Lee Na Eun, and Kim Dong Hee taking lead in the cast. The show ran for two seasons, spanning from 2018 to 2019.

7. Shin Seung Ho is a Baeksang Arts Award-nominated actor
The success of A-Teen led Seung Ho to a supporting part in the four-act drama How to Buy a Friend. Taking on the gutsy character of Heo Don-hyuk, the rookie's performance turned out to be a breakout role, and earned him a Best Actor nod at the 2020 KBS Drama Awards.

Two years later, and Seung Ho can now call himself a Baeksang Arts Award-nominated performer, thanks to his stellar portrayal of Hwang Jang-soo in Netflix drama D.P.. The trophy went to his co-star Koo Kyo Hwan, but hey, getting the Baeksang stamp of approval at such a young age is still quite impressive!

8. Shin Seung Ho made his movie debut in Double Patty
Just last 2021, Seung Ho made his big screen debut via the film Double Patty. The actor portrayed a wrestler, Kang Woo-ram, who ended up meeting a burger joint waitress named Lee Hyun-ji (played by Red Velvet's Irene).

In preparation for the physically taxing role, Seung Ho lived and trained with actual ssireum athletes for two months. He shared that, "Each and every thing was difficult, without a single exception. I participated in a match with a high school student, but I lost every time except once. I think they went easy on me.”

Seung Ho isn't oblivious to the fact that the entire world has gotten smitten over him and crown prince Gong Won. In an interview, he expressed how the character was someone he really resonated with, saying, "I think Go Won is the most similar character to me so far. And I am interested in meeting new characters, experiencing new things, and challenging myself."

All in all, he has nothing but good things to say about his experience filming the show, going as far to say that, "Alchemy of Souls will be the the most memorable work for me when I look back on my late 20s." Aww!
