The news of Sharon Cuneta being stopped from entering an Hermès store at a luxury mall in Seoul, South Korea made it to the entertainment headlines a few days ago. The megastar documented the incident on her vlog, which narrates how she ended up shopping at Louis Vuitton instead, then later on passing by the Hermès doorman who didn't let her in, saying, “Look, I [bought] everything!”

It was a classic Pretty Woman moment. It also wasn't the first time a Filipina celebrity opened up about being "snubbed" while shopping in luxury boutiques abroad, so it comes as no surprise that Sharon's story quickly went viral.

However, offering further clarification on what happened, the 56-year-old actress later on took to social media to explain that she harbors no ill feelings toward the French luxury fashion house over the incident. "Don’t feel bad about Hermes not letting me in," Sharon writes on Instagram. "Lots, if not all name-brand stores even in the U.S. allow a certain number of people in at a time—sometimes 10 lang, while the others wait in line outside of the store."

She also notes that she understands that some luxury stores really do require an appointment upon entry as part of their policy, especially given the strict health protocols currently being implemented because of the pandemic. She adds, "Lots also ask you to make an appointment. Covid measures nila yan so okay lang. Sayang lang talaga belt lang naman ang balak ko eh kaya ayoko pumapasok sa ibang stores na di ko plano puntahan ang dami kong nakikita eh!"

This was later on emphasized by a netizen who left a comment on Sharon's post, saying, "You must have an appointment before going to Hermes store. That’s how unique the store [is]."

To which, the megastar gracefully replied, clarifying that she's well-aware of the store policy and merely wanted to try her luck. "Yes I know. Just took a chance since I was there already," the actress explains.
