These days, our flawless October girl, Lea Salonga, is busy preparing to impress us again with her return to Broadway in Allegiance. Inspired by the true-life experiences of George Takei, it is an untold story of an American family’s journey to escape from the wrongful imprisonment of Japanese-Americans during World War II. Led by George Takei himself who will play the present day Sam Kimura, the show takes us back to 60 years where a younger Sam Kimura (Telly Leung) and his sister Kei Kimura (Lea Salonga) tread two separate paths that threaten to tear them apart.
It’s so nice to see our girl doing yet again what she does best. She even promoted this much-awaited show on her Instagram account featuring a spread in Vanity Fair, shot by Luka Fontana.
She captioned: "Our Vanity Fair spread. Thanks to @lukefontana for photographing this, @georgebrescia for styling, @malanbreton for the fashion, and @mitchdean for art direction. So fun to sit for a portrait with @tellyleung and@georgehtakei! @allegiancebway"
Allegiance opens on November 8, 2015 at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street), New York.
Good luck, Lea!
