Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli have always been quite secretive for a celebrity couple. For one, they've kept the details of their engagement private, only posting an announcement on Instagram last November 2019.

A year later, the couple has finally shared more deets of how Matteo popped the question. In recent interviews, it was revealed that Matteo actually proposed to Sarah not just once, but twice—and yup, he gave her TWO engagement rings as well!
The first proposal reportedly happened while the couple was in Italy. In a YouTube video with Dr. Vicki Belo, Sarah mentioned that it was only the two of them plus Matteo's family who knew about their engagement at the time. She didn't specify when it happened exactly, but PEP.ph reports that Matteo and Sarah were spotted in Italy back in September 2018 when the couple celebrated their fifth anniversary.
Meanwhile, Matteo's second proposal happened in Cebu. According to Sarah, they were with Matteo's relatives, "Parang paalam lang sa kanila," she said.
In the same report by PEP.ph, it's said that Matteo confirmed that he gave his wife one engagement ring for each proposal. "That first ring, I'm proud of it, I'm very proud that it was… my grandmother's ring," he shares. "I'm very proud na [that] it did not need readjusting or anything."
That said, only one of Sarah's rings has been publicly revealed as her engagement ring. It's the same one she was wearing in Matteo's Instagram announcement, and Sarah now wears this diamond ring with her wedding band.
