Throughout Rick Owens’ career, he has sparked scandalous uproar and ignited strangely unfamiliar conversations in both art and fashion. A true provocateur, the fashion designer has never shied away from presenting irreverent visuals laced with erotic elements—from unobstructed views of models’ genitalia on the runway to the bondage straps and harnesses featured in many of his collections.

Though his boundary-pushing designs are nothing new, his latest endeavor still drew gasps from even the most seasoned fashionistas.

Rick Owens Sells Feet Videos to Raise Funds for Trans Youth and Refugees
Rick Owens’ Temple of Love is a retrospective exhibition set to run at the Palais Galliera fashion museum in Paris, France, from June 28, 2025, to January 4, 2026. In an interview conducted just days before the opening, the 63-year-old casually revealed that he would be selling photos of his feet through a paid subscription service primarily known for NSFW content.
The decision appeared to be driven purely by fun, especially with the avant-garde designer stating in conversation with WWD, "A little bit of wicked fun is elegant." His circle didn’t immediately grasp the thought process, but as Rick explained, "This is the most innocent thing I’ve ever done."
The real purpose behind the account’s creation was finally revealed yesterday via the designer’s Instagram.
Every subscription to receive videos of Rick’s feet will provide financial support to at-risk and in-danger trans youth and refugees. His chosen non-profit organization? La Maison D’Allanah, founded by “trans pioneer” and adult content creator Allanah Starr. The funds will be used “to provide scholarships, mentorship programs, and resources” for the beneficiaries.
Rick’s initiative is also an homage to Virginia Oldoini, the Countess of Castiglione, a 19th-century figure who, in her later years, retreated to an apartment with the mirrors removed and the curtains drawn. There, she created portraits focusing solely on her feet as a final attempt to capture her beauty. With this gesture, Rick sees his project as part of his "own negotiations with self-display, vanity, and aging."
