In an unexpected yet beautiful twist to this week's seemingly grim events, Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati officially tied the knot, proving that where there is love, there is hope for better days.
Sarah announced the news in a heartwarming social media post, saying, "I have you and it’s enough. It’s everything. Thank you, Lord, for today. The gathering to celebrate with our loved ones will have to wait because we care more about everyone’s safety and health."
Event stylist Gideon Hermosa also shared a touching anecdote about how the wedding came to be. "A couple of days ago, we already started doing the ingress for this event. With synergy, me and my team were inspired to pour all our efforts & passion in creating this dream wedding, then suddenly, an announcement was made leading us to postpone the event," he captioned his post. "Against all odds, [Richard and Sarah] decided to have a simple civil wedding. Despite all the virus threats and the community quarantine, their love stayed on top of it all. I am truly happy and grateful that this wedding came to life not as big as we expected it to be but it came as beautiful as their love for each other."
Similarly, in a series of Instagram posts by photographer Pat Dy, he revealed that the couple proceeded with a civil ceremony instead, after having to call off their church wedding due to to the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in the Philippines. "Although things have changed dramatically the last couple of days, Richard and Sarah proceeded with a civil ceremony since her side of the family has already arrived. We applaud their strength, letting all us know that there will always be hope and love," Pat wrote.
Richard and Sarah preluded their nuptials with a breathtaking underwater prenup shoot in El Nido Palawan, released two weeks ago. The two responsibly decided to put a halt to the much-awaited festivities to a later date, prioritizing their guests' safety. "As much as we want to celebrate our love with our family and friends, in light of the recent situation, we have decided to postpone our wedding as we do not want to put anyone at risk," Sarah had written. "We only wish good health for everyone and we hope to celebrate with you as soon as things get better. Much love, Richard & Sarah."
We definitely can't wait for their church wedding in the future! But for now, we couldn't be more ecstatic for the happy couple! Congratulations, Richard and Sarah!
