29-year-old fashion designer Rhuigi Villasenor has just been named by Swiss luxury brand Bally as their newest Creative Director. The Filipino-American follows the footsteps of Pablo Copolla, who filled in the post for three years before opening it up in 2017.

On their official announcement post, Bally CEO Nicolas Girotto says that, "over the past three years, we have redefined our positioning, successfully consolidating our brand. Having found the right champion in Rhuigi, we are ready to move Bally to the next level... [his] deep understanding of Bally's history coupled with a distinct appreciation of Swiss lifestyle will be instrumental in ushering the brand into the future."

Born in Manila, Rhuigi moved to the U.S. at the age of nine. He's best known for being the founder and CEO of luxury streetwear brand Rhude, and his designs often reference "American iconography with nostalgic reflections observed through a foreign, aspirational lens."

Notably, his brand has been worn by industry bigwigs such as NBA superstar Lebron James, as well as hip-hop artist Jay-Z, and fellow Filipino-American Saweetie.

After accepting the position as Creative Director, Rhuigi expressed that he, "[has] always admired the Swiss approach to luxury, its discreet representation of excellence, and symbiotic openness and care for the environment. Nicolas and I connected on our shared vision and it is with immense honor that I accept this challenge." His debut collection for Bally will be presented at the luxury house's Spring/Summer 2023 show.
