With her on-point outfits and picture-perfect home, Rei Germar is truly setting the bar high when it comes to #aesthetic. Like many of us, she has taken to revamping her bedroom and has shared her journey through her highly followed YouTube channel. After all the hard work, Rei has finally completed her project with the help of design team Tanaw Studio. And as expected, it was nothing short of Instagrammable!
We made it a point to round up all the best features to help you guys glean some tips for your own space, whether you’re already redecorating your home or have yet to start. Save these pics for later!
1. The full-length mirror
Full-length mirrors have become a staple because they not only make for great OOTD selfies but serve as home decor, too. The trick is getting one that’s large enough to serve its practical purpose and also cute enough to serve its #aesthetic function—like Rei’s irregularly shaped one with a wooden foot. It’s even flanked by a potted plant for an extra touch! She
2. The queen-sized bed
You don’t need us to tell you that the bed is the centerpiece of any room because it ties the whole space together. Rei’s bedroom followed a neutral color scheme that was accented by shades of coral and green. That’s why she stuck to white beddings and a coral headboard for a subtle pop of color. Her bed is custom-made but her beddings are from S&R and The SM Store.
3. The cool bedside table and bedside desk
If you often find yourself hanging out on your bed, take cues from Rei’s strategic bedside designs. On the left of the bed is a cute table from Lazada with swivel drawers where she keeps all her essentials. To the right is a bedside desk that allows her to work standing up or seated on her bed. The desk even contains a book compartment that’s perfect for nighttime reading.
4. The lounge area
Speaking of reading, perhaps the best place to do that would be in a bedroom lounge area, and it doesn’t have to be super fancy. In Rei’s case, she simply opted for a plush, cozy lounge chair from Tanaw Studio and placed a reading lamp from The SM Store next to it. She made sure to match the lamp to her chair’s black frame.
5. The clothing rack
We love how Rei’s lounge area also serves another purpose. It’s where she can spend time thinking of an OOTD to wear because right next to it is her clothing rack. The terracotta-colored rack is tall and not so wide to save space. It’s where she keeps an eye on key pieces she hasn’t worn yet or wants to maximize—a good tip you need to consider!
6. The accessories cabinet
If you’re always losing track of where you keep your accessories and baubles, you might want to take cues from Rei! Instead of storing her accessories in drawers as people normally would, she has an accessories cabinet that allows her to see all her pieces at a glance. She keeps her sunglasses on one level and organizes smaller pieces in tiny boxes to keep it neat. The cabinet is mounted to the wall to save floor space!
7. The vanity area
Rei already shared a vlog featuring her vanity area but it’s still worth noting again! The key details that you should take note of are the bar cart and the wooden details on the wall.
Instead of stashing her makeup in the drawers of the table, Rei chose a bar cart from Lazada that allows her to stow away all her beauty stuff in a pretty way. The vanity area is located in a small corner of the bedroom, but the wooden paneling on the walls made it feel like a special, designated space. A reminder that decorating your walls can make a huge difference!
8. The work nook
Now that most of us spend a lot of time working from home, it might be a good idea to consider creating a work area that’s free from distractions. Rei converted a wall cavity in the end of a hall into a cozy work nook by installing a mounted desk that gives her a lot of leg space. With its cute terracotta color and half-moon mirror, it even doubles as a flatlay area for IG purposes!
