Traveling is one of my only vices in life. It’s something that I save up for, plan in advance, and really gets my juices flowing. If traveling was actually free, perhaps you wouldn’t see me anymore. I took advantage of two long weekends and escaped to a destination that I have always dreamed of going to.

Everytime I get on a plane, I get all giddy in excitement - one of the reasons why I love to travel so much!

We had a pit stop to Bangkok before heading to my “bucket list” destination and had a full afternoon of eating and enjoying the brand new Central Embassy Mall, which was quite impressive. My friends and I rarely get the opportunity to go to our malls in Manila so this was really a treat. We had a great time and we enjoyed a gorgeous lunch at one of our favorites, Somboon Seafood, which had a branch in the new mall.
Dropped our bags and immediately headed to the brand new Central Embassy Mall.
I loved the mall and was really happy that we were able to do this. We all hardly have the time to do this when we are in Manila!
After that delicious meal, I felt I really needed to go for a walk. Good thing that the mall gave us ample eye candy while we did a much-needed cardiovascular activity. Soon after that, we wanted to see the new W Hotel property called “The House on Sathorn.” This place just opened in July and was barely two weeks old.
Our first meal was at the delicious sea food house SOMBOON! It was so good! The crab is an absolute must have.
The mall had so many lovely stores to look at and be inspired with.

The mall also boasts of this high end grocery concept called EATTHAI! I loved it. I had to bring home the Lanzones for my family.
The property was quite special as it used to be the house of Captain Sathorn who was a wealthy business man that owned half of downtown Bangkok. The house was also the Russian Embassy, however, it has now been transformed into a fabulous event space that features a bar and a restaurant. I was really inspired by how the property was used very wisely while respecting the culture and heritage of the building. This could be something us Filipinos could look into especially with our heritage buildings.
After the mall, we visited the House on Sathorn. It was so chic. This was the bar area.

We stayed outside in the foyer and had drinks under the giant trees.
It was really so inspiring to see how they used Heritage buildings and made it contemporary and relevant.
How gorgeous are these pomegranates? They look like a Pardo de Tavera painting!
After a few drinks, my crew decided to call it an early night since we have a 6am flight to catch the next morning.
