In an interview with the two girls, Yasmeen first shared with us that she chose to become a dentist as her father wanted her to become a doctor in the least number of years possible. But as she’s also always dreamed of modeling for big brands, she first turned to the availability of brand ambassadors on Instagram and decided to build her profile and start from there.

Meanwhile, Janny, a current nursing student, has always dreamed of pursuing a medical course since she was a kid. Becoming a content creator happened to be coincidental for her, when a brand slid into her DMs in 2018 for a collaboration. The rest was history after that!

If you’re a content creator, you would know that building your feed is key as this is your biggest asset for business. And when it comes to both of their profiles, they each had a unique way to go about it. Yasmeen says that she never stuck with one aesthetic—she simply wanted her feed to have a calm and minimalist vibe. While Janny has been loving bright and fun indie fashion like the ‘80s so her photo editing ideas instantly reflected that!

However, as great as it sounds, balancing two careers isn’t always fun and games. According to Yasmeen, she’s been working two to three times a week during this pandemic and releasing new content weekly has been a struggle for her since she’s still adjusting to it.

On the other hand, as a nursing student who wishes to become a registered nurse both in the Philippines and in the U.S,., Janny does her best to stay motivated and always puts time management and prioritization at the core of her life. “Usually what I do is I put all my tasks both for school and Instagram on my planner to help me stay on track & manage my time effectively.”

One’s thing for sure though, these two hard working girls both see content creation as a great stress reliever from both school and work. Yasmeen says, “Dentistry can be really fulfilling, but it can get really repetitive and stressful at times. So having an outlet like content creation to just have fun helps balance things out.”
