Ever since its inception in 1995, Preview has always championed the Filipino creative. For the underdogs and rookies, the publication has always been some sort of home—an avenue for them to hone their craft and make their mark on the industry. Many of the scene's most in-demand professionals today have built portfolios through Preview's editorials, as signified in the Preview 30 Icons.
A tribute to the visionaries who fashioned the DNA of Summit Media's flagship title, the roster is composed of photographers, stylists, designers, and artists who have each made a name for themselves locally and globally. As the publication celebrates three decades in the Philippines, several of the honorees find themselves taking a nostalgia trip as they recall their experiences as Preview girls and boys. Ahead, take a look at some of their most memorable moments.

The Preview 30 Icons and Their Most Memorable Moments
Liz Uy
Before she was your favorite stylist's favorite stylist, Liz Uy earned her stripes as an editorial assistant. Since the mid-2000s, she was the brains and hands behind the fashion in some of Preview's most iconic photoshoots. Through an Instagram Reel (aptly done to the tune of Where Did the Time Go?), she compiled some of her shining moments, from dressing cover muses to becoming a cover girl herself. Of course, the viral Call Me Maybe video by the OG it girls also made it to her memory log.
Vince Uy
Preview also became a family affair among the Uy's, particularly when Vince Uy hopped on board as creative director. Some of the visionary's most memorable works include conceptual spreads starring Georgina Wilson and Bea Alonzo, as well as a cover that debuted the 19-year-old face of Anne Curtis. There was always a distinct touch to a Vince Uy piece, and Preview proved to be the perfect means to display it.

Camille Co, Tricia Gosingtian, Laureen Uy
At a time when stylistas on Blogspot and Lookbook reigned supreme, Preview placed three of the era's most recognizable names on a cover. Camille Co, Tricia Gosingtian, and Laureen Uy all made their Preview cover debut in September 2012, donning avant-garde Cary Santiago ensembles. The trio decided to emulate the milestone at their Preview 30 Icons shoot, posing together after more than a decade.

Shaira Luna
Image-maker extraordinaire Shaira Luna credits Preview for many of her career highlights, which include a Best Dressed honor in 2017, profiles on her photography styles, and numerous covers to her name. As expected, she showed up to her Preview 30 Icons shoot wearing an outfit she thrifted from head to toe.

Paolo Pineda
The year 2003 marked a pivotal moment for Paolo Pineda, who was tapped by Preview to photograph 25 women for its Best Dressed list. It proved to be just the beginning of the photographer’s long-standing tenure with the title. Throughout his career, which he "blames on Preview," Paolo has lensed the likes of Cherie Gil, Heart Evangelista, Liza Soberano, Andrea Brillantes, and fellow Icons Marian Rivera and Solenn Heussaff. A life well documented through Preview covers!
Other industry stalwarts also partook in the celebration of Preview's 30 years in the scene, sharing some of their favorite moments through Instagram Stories and TikTok Reels.
Anne Curtis
The lady with the most Preview covers to her name (10 and counting!), Anne Curtis recalled her very first one dating back to December 2004. Shot on film, the cover was also a first for Vince and Liz Uy, who were also just beginning their careers as editorial staffers at the time. The brow game may have changed, but Anne's magnetic charm remains more than 20 years later!

Cath Sobrevega
Celebrity stylist and 2022 Best Dressed honoree Cath Sobrevega also joined in on the celebration. In a series of Instagram Stories, she shared some of her recent work with the brand, which included cover shoots with Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo, as well as Maja Salvador.

Samantha Lee
Prior to becoming a champion of Filipino queer cinema, Samantha Lee started out creating fashion films for Preview. In a TikTok, she reacted to Hide and Seek, a production she directed for Preview back in the early 2010s. The flick features models dressed in Proudrace, and was done in collaboration with former editorial staff member Andrea Ang.

To mark Preview’s milestone, Bianca Gonzalez also shared a throwback of her May 2007 cover on Instagram Stories. The shoot, which saw her transform into six iconic Filipina beauties—from Darna to Paraluman—took over 12 hours to complete, with makeup by Preview 30 Icon, Jigs Mayuga. The ambitious tribute remains one of the brand’s most memorable covers, even earning a mention in Vince’s own list of standouts.

Em is queer and probably daydreaming somewhere. They're Preview's associate entertainment editor who's often spotted in cowboy boots and lemon-tinted sunnies.
