Many of your favorite K-drama actors actually started out as K-pop idols!

It's not uncommon for K-pop idols to cross over to the other side of the entertainment industry and do an acting stint or two. In fact, many of our favorite K-drama actors right now actually started out as idols. Case in point: IU and Miss A's Bae Suzy.

For expert binge-watchers and amateur enthusiasts alike, these K-titles might seem familiar for racking up positive reception from viewers. But another thing in common among them is that they all include a K-pop idol in the cast!

1. Hotel del Luna

Aside from IU who played the show's lead character, Jang Man Wol, the popular tVN K-drama actually had two more K-Pop idols in the cast! The hotel's adorable receptionist Ji Hyun Joong is actually played by Pyo Ji Hoon, aka Block B's rapper P.O., while the ghost-slash-hotel intern Kim Yoo Na is played by girl group Gugudan's Kang Mina.

2. Itaewon Class

In case you didn't know, Kwon Nara, who played Park Sae Roy's first love Oh Soo Ah, actually started out as an idol. She was part of a girl group called Hello Venus, which officially disbanded in 2019.

5. He Is Psychometric

You might see this K-drama a lot because of your Netflix recommendations, so it's not really a secret that GOT7's Park Jinyoung leads the cast. This isn't his first time acting, though; he also previously made appearances in Dream High 2 and Legend of the Blue Sea.

6. Reply 1988

The Reply series is a favorite among K-drama connoisseurs, particularly its third installment, Reply 1988. It stars one of our faves, Park Bo Gum, and of course, Lee Hyeri from a girl group called Girl's Day.

7. She Was Pretty

Anything that stars Park Seo Joon is personally an instant fave, but in She Was Pretty, it's hard not to root for the second lead because Super Junior's Choi Siwon did such a good job at charming his way into our hearts.
