We can't wait!

Anime fans, listen up! It looks like Netflix is taking us on a nostalgic trip to our childhood this month. Ghost Fighter, the iconic ‘90s show, is set to launch on the streaming site in just a few weeks!

Though Netflix Philippines hasn’t released an official statement just yet, multiple seasons of the series are slated to come out on the 26th, as per its “Coming Soon” page, under Ghost Fighter’s original Japanese title Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files.

The popular show served as an anime adaptation to the manga of the same name, written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. FYI, he’s also the mangaka who created Hunter x Hunter, which was turned into yet another well known anime in 1999.

Ghost Fighter follows the story of Yusuke Urameshi, a 14-year-old delinquent who dies while trying to save a child from a speeding car. (Locally, you might know of him as Eugene!) His out-of-character deed grants him a chance at a second life by becoming an “Underworld Detetective,” a.k.a. someone who investigates and thwarts demons on the loose in the human world.

A localized version of the series aired on IBC in the mid ‘90s, and on GMA back in 1999. The main characters’ names were changed to Eugene, Alfred, Dennis, and Vincent for its Filipino audience.

Fingers crossed we get all four seasons on Netflix in one drop.
