Much has been said about Barbie, Greta Gerwig's vision, and how Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling have played their characters to perfection in the media and promotion (it's about that Ken-ergy, after all). With it, we're going to get an overwhelming amount of pink. So much so that it apparently caused an international shortage in the specific paint color, according to Barbie's production designer.

Speaking to Architectural Digest, Gerwig credits production designer Sarah Greenwood and the set decorator Katie Spencer, who were tasked with curating the Barbie World landscape. Yes, this includes the dreamhouse, the dollhouse where we can find Barbie and Ken. It was set at Warner Bros. Studio in Levaesden nearby London.

"The world ran out of pink," Greenwood told Architectural Digest. Gerwig was said to have wanted to maintain Barbie's "kid-ness." And that includes that very bright, very distinct pink every little girl has known all their life. For the director, it was all about creating an "authentic artificiality" rather than going with CGI.

In one Barbie trailer, we can see the Barbie Dreamhouse adorned with the most vibrant colors ever. It wasn't just with the outfits and furniture, but with the entire set design, which covers the scenery and all. We can see a pink shower, bed, and of a lot of pink accessories.

Could've they just mix red and white? Surely, that is not the Barbie way to get that signature "Barbiecore" aesthetic. And we're here for it!

Barbie is set to hit theaters this coming July.
