With the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases breaching the 3000 mark, along with over 152 deaths in the country, it seems grim news awaits us every waking moment. However, in spite of the ballooning crisis we’re currently in, Filipinos continue to find inventive ways to cope, while hopefully boosting morale in the process.
Where Iloilo designer Adrian Pe crafted vibrant Power Rangers-themed PPE hazmats for medical frontliners, Pasig citizen Paolo Belleza keeps himself protected outside in a similar manner by wearing actual head-to-toe Power Ranger gear.
Photos of Paolo donning his black Mammoth Ranger costume while casually shopping for groceries went viral this morning to the amusement of many. According to multiple reports, he simply wanted to instill “good vibes” amid the constant feeling of distress caused by the pandemic. Paolo says the suit was an old costume used for cosplay that he simply decided to bust out for his errand.
And yes, if you were wondering, even Power Rangers practice social distancing
That’s one way of keeping the virus away, we guess! That said, if you're planning to follow in his footsteps by donning your own Power Rangers look to the grocery, here's a gentle reminder to wash your hands and drink lots of water after—especially in this sweltering summer heat.
