When you’re nominated for an Academy Award, there’s truly no way to lose—if you’re going up for the top categories, that is.
Every year, the Oscars gives out an “everyone wins” gift bag to all the Best Actor/Actress, Best Supporting Actor/Actress and Best Director nominees. While the contents are always just as glamorous as the night itself, the company handing them out isn’t directly affiliated with the Academy Awards. Distinctive Assets, a marketing company offering celebrity product placements, has been assembling the coveted Oscars "swag bag" for nearly two decades.
This year, 24 nominees are to each receive the entirety of the 2020 gift bag reportedly worth $215,000 or approximately P12.7 million. Take note though that they don’t have to take them if they don’t want to, and alternatively they’re allowed to only take home the pieces that they like. Some celebrities have even opted to donate these hundred thousand dollar loot bags to charity in the past.
So what’s in the Oscars swag bag this year? Of course, you have your heftily priced offerings such as a Scenic Eclipse luxury yacht cruise for two, worth over $78,000, a Cabo getaway, and a five-night Hawaiian vacation. They can also avail of $25,000 worth of beauty services, including chemical peels and fillers.
For celebs looking to physically pick up the pace, they can also get 10 personal training sessions with celebrity trainer Alexis Seletzky.
Then again, you also have some mundane products that these A-list celebs could surely purchase themselves without batting an eye. We’re talking a variety of beauty products, bottles of liquor, a dental tooth kit, a brick-sized 24-karat gold bath bomb, a game of Exploding Kittens, and a penguin stuffed toy.
