In an age dominated by social media, streaming sites, and the general ease granted by an infinite amount of information online, it's almost impossible to turn to a corner and not find someone obsessing over their phones or any type of screen. It's the first thing you look at when you wake up, your source of entertainment while traveling to work, and the last thing you check before you go to bed. With the amount of exposure our eyes get from the harsh light of our phones 24/7, it's no wonder practically living online has long lasting damaging effects.
To put it into perspective, according to Insider, at least 58% of people who spend their time working in front of computer screens experience Computer Vision Syndrome. CVS is a condition that can result to eye strain, blurred vision, head aches, and neck and back pain. Apparently it's also because of this online addiction that 90% of teens and adults, in Asia alone, are near-sighted. Feeling attacked yet? That's not all, if you're having a hard time sleeping at night, it probably has less to do with you being an insomniac, and has more to do with your nightly Facebook-before-bed ritual.
