There's a new witch in town.

Sabrina Spellman is back in town—and it seems she's had a dramatic makeover! If the newly released poster and trailer are any indication, Netflix's The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is taking a darker route, which is a far cry from the fantasy sitcom that Melissa Joan Hart starred in back in the '90s.

Curious what else to expect from this brand new series? Here's what you need to know:

1. Kiernan Shipka is the new Sabrina Spellman.

The 18-year-old actress basically grew up on TV. You might remember Kiernan for her role in Mad Men as Sally Draper, which she took on when she was only six years old.

2. The series will follow the original comics.

Nope, the new series will not take after Sabrina the Teenage Witch, the '90s sitcom we all loved. Instead, it will be fashioned after the original Archie Comics graphic novel: The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

3. Expect it to be dark and mysterious.

Kiernan's version of Sabrina will plunge into the depths of dark sorcery. Even her black cat, Salem, will be a real cat in this series.

4. It draws inspiration from cult horror films.

Like Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist! Netflix says that Sabrina's story will find her "wrestling to reconcile with her dual nature—half-witch, half-mortal—while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family, and the daylight world humans inhabit." The popular streaming site also calls the show a "dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft."

5. It will air just in time for Halloween!

Expect the new Sabrina Spellman to have you hooked on her dark magic starting October 26. The show has already been ordered to have two seasons with 20 episodes each.

Riverdale's Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa sits at the director chair with Miranda Otto as Aunt Zelda and Lucy Davis as Aunt Hilda, and Ross Lynch will be playing Harvey. The cast also includes Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Richard Coyle, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Abigail Cowen, Lachlan Watson, Bronson Pinchot, and Gavin Leatherwood.
