Here's everything you need to know about the Apple's latest affordable smart phone.

Apple just revealed their latest iPhone, but it's not exactly the next iPhone you expect. Instead, they released a new version of the iPhone SE, the brand's most affordable smart phone yet. But here's something else: The tech company also announced their way of helping in this time of COVID-19 pandemic

The Proceeds

Apart from the enticing price points, the new iPhone SE also comes in three colorways: Black, White, and (Product) Red. Usually, the proceeds of the red version of the iPhones go directly to efforts in fighting HIV/AIDS. But  given the current atmosphere brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, Apple has decided to redirect the money to COVID-19 relief.

Apple says that they will "redirect 100% of eligible proceeds from (PRODUCT)RED purchases to the Global Fund’s COVID‑19 Response. This will provide critical support in health systems most threatened by outbreak and, in turn, help preserve lifesaving HIV/AIDS programs in sub-Saharan Africa."

This includes all Apple accessories that come in the (Product) Red colorway, like Apple Watch bands or iPad and iPhone cases, and iPhones, including the new iPhone SE. Their donation will run until September 30, 2020.

The Specs

The new iPhone SE is likened to a smaller version of the iPhone 11. It has a 4.7-inch screen with Retina HD display, and is closest to the iPhone 8 in terms of length, height and width. For photo and video, the iPhone SE has a 12MP camera and also has the portrait mode and portrait lighting effects. It boasts of 4K video capability, too. It has a touch ID security system, which is a neat treat given that FaceID is a little inconvenient since we we often wear face masks now.

Additionally, this iPhone bears the A13 Bionic Chip—yep, just like the iPhone 11 Pro's chip, a.k.a the fastest chip in a smart phone now. It’s also water resistant for up to one meter in depth for 30 minutes. Oh, and if you plan on binge-watching, this iPhone has you covered. It has a powerful battery that lasts up to 13 hours on a single charge. Like the new iPhones, the iPhone SE only has the lightning cable connector. But the good news is that this iPhone can be charged wirelessly, too!

The iPhone SE also runs on the latest, most powerful features like true tone, haptic touch, augmented reality (AR), stereo audio recording, and even audio sharing! Yes, according to Apple, "you and a friend can both rock out to the same playlist by pairing two sets of AirPods or Beats headphones to one iPhone." Did we mention it's also dual sim capable? So, cool!
