As most of the world opened up in 2022, travel is definitely in full swing. And with a lot of travelers now out and about on the weekends, there's more need for places to stay all over the archipelago.
Here are hotels and resorts expected to open in the Philippines in the next 12 months:
Mactan Belmont Luxury Hotel
Newtown Boulevard, Mactan Newtown, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu
Target opening date: Last week of Q1 2023
A new addition to Megaworld's beachfront township in Cebu, Mactan, Belmont Luxury Hotel in Mactan Newtown is expected to have 550 rooms on its 18 floors. The luxurious hotel will feature a roof deck swimming pool, a kiddie pool, and four types of rooms: Executive Suite, Junior Suite, Queen Suite, and Twin Suite. It will also have seven specially-abled suites from the third to the 9th floor.
Citadines Bacolod City
Lacson Street, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental
Target opening date: September 1, 2023
Located along Lacson Street, which is home to Bacolod City's best food haunts, Citadines Bacolod City will have 200 units of serviced residences, ranging from studios to two-bedroom apartments. It will also feature a ballroom, meeting rooms, a swimming pool, a gym, and an in-house restaurant.
Grand Westside Hotel
Westside City, Tambo, Parañaque City
Target opening date: Q3 2023
Megaworld's Las Vegas-inspired complex Westside City is soon to open the high-end Grand Westside Hotel. It will have a total of 1,500 rooms, a swimming pool and children's pool, pocket gardens, and other luxurious amenities.
Somerset Gorordo Cebu
Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City, Cebu
Target opening date: December 31, 2023
Somerset Gorordo Cebu will soon be Ascott's second serviced residence in Cebu after their Citadines property. The 155-unit property will feature studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments; a pool, function rooms, and a residents' lounge.
Seda Manila Bay
Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard corner Aseana Avenue, Parañaque City
Target opening date: Mid-2023
According to Andrea Mastellone, senior group general manager of the Ayala Land chain, Seda Manila Bay is set to open 350 rooms by the middle of 2023. Like most Seda Hotels properties that are next to Ayala Malls, Seda Manila Bay will be built right next to Ayala Malls Manila Bay, which opened in September 2019.
Chancellor Hotel Boracay Newcoast
Boracay Newcoast, Malay, Aklan
Target opening date: Q2 2023
Chancellor Hotel is located in the 150-hectare township Boracay Newcoast. It will have almost 500 units on five floors, a trellis garden, a swimming pool, an in-pool hot tub, a wet lounge area, and a fitness center. The soft opening is in the second quarter of the year.
The Westin Manila Sonata Place
San Miguel Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City
Target opening date: February 2023
Five-star city hotel The Westin Manila Sonata Place will soon open its doors in the busy Ortigas Center. It will provide a wide range of room options, from the King Deluxe to the Presidential Suite—with every room featuring the signature Westin Heavenly Bed. The in-house Heavenly Spa by Westin will also make sure that guests are well taken care of, whether they're on a business stay in the city or just taking a break with a staycation.
lyf Malate Manila
Malate, Manila City
Target opening date: June 30, 2023
lyf by Ascott is a new co-living and serviced residence concept designed for young travelers. They have so far opened properties in Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Fukuoka—with the largest outpost found in Singapore. By the second quarter of 2023, they’re expected to open lyf Malate, the first lyf-branded property in the Philippines. It will be located in the heart of Manila’s financial and historical hub, just a stone’s throw away from retail centers, rows of bars and restaurants, and heritage sites like Intramuros and Rizal Park. The property will have 202 units, including the “One of a Kind” studios as well as the “Two of a Kind” and “All Together” apartments.
lyf Cebu City
Cebu City, Cebu
Target opening date: July 31, 2023
lyf Cebu City is another co-living property that will boast well-design social spaces. It will feature 180 rooms, ranging from a studio to a two-bedroom apartment. Like most lyf properties, it will be designed with bright-colored and youthful interiors. lyf Cebu City is the first lyf-branded property in the VisMin area.
Somerset Valero Makati
Valero Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City
Target opening date: July 30, 2023
With 176 units, serviced residence Somerset Valero Makati will serve visiting businesspersons, young professionals, and families on staycation within the Makati Central Business District. It will house a variety of rooms from studio spaces to three-bedroom apartments, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a lounge.
