The Haunting of Hill House was the talk of the town when it was released two years ago, and for good reason. Critics hailed the supernatural horror drama as as a thrilling and complex ghost story “[that] contains some of the most unforgettable horror imagery in film or television in years." Thankfully, in light of its success, Netflix is finally coming out with an equally promising follow-up that’ll have you quaking in your boots in no time.
Dubbed The Haunting of Bly Manor and set in 1980s England, the sequel's synopsis reads: “After an au pair’s tragic death, Henry Wingrave hires a young American nanny to care for his orphaned niece and nephew who reside at Bly Manor with the estate’s chef Owen, groundskeeper Jamie and housekeeper, Mrs. Grose. But all is not as it seems at the manor, and centuries of dark secrets of love and loss are waiting to be unearthed in this chilling gothic romance. At Bly Manor, dead doesn’t mean gone.”

The second installment to the Hill House anthology stars Victoria Pedretti, Henry Thomas, Amelie Bea Smith, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Amelia Eve, Rahul Kohli, and T’Nia Miller. As fans of the original Netflix series can already tell, some of the actors from The Haunting of Hill House have indeed returned for the next chapter, only they’ll be playing completely different characters this time (yes, like in the American Horror Story franchise).
