The next time your man friend asks you if you want to “Netflix and chill,” know that you can now actually watch Netflix and chill (unless you have other things in mind, of course).
At a keynote speech at CES 2016, co-founder and CEO Reed Hastings announced that the video source will be expanding to 130 new countries across the globe including Bolivia, Honduras, Hong Kong, Colombia, and Philippines. (See the full list here.)
Reed says:
“Today you are witnessing the birth of a new global Internet TV network. With this launch, consumers around the world — from Singapore to St. Petersburg, from San Francisco to Sao Paulo — will be able to enjoy TV shows and movies simultaneously — no more waiting. With the help of the Internet, we are putting power in consumers’ hands to watch whenever, wherever, and on whatever device.”
