Former Glee actress Naya Rivera has reportedly gone missing after a swimming accident with her four-year-old son, Josey Hollis Dorsey.

Local authorities declared a search and rescue operation for a “possible drowning victim” at Lake Piru in Ventura County California on Wednesday night at 9:30 p.m. A report by CBS Los Angeles states that the sheriff department was alerted of the situation after Naya’s son was found floating alone in a rented boat on Lake Piru.

The police dispatched a dive team, along with drones and choppers overhead but were unable to find the actress. They soon announced that the search would recommence first thing Thursday morning.

The Ventura County sheriff revealed that Naya and her child had rented a boat around 1 p.m. last Wednesday. Her son was found three hours later alone onboard by another boat that had passed by.

Multiple news sites report that the four-year-old is safe and unharmed and was found wearing a life jacket. He also told police that he and his mother had gone swimming but the latter never returned on the boat. An adult life vest was also said to have been found inside the boat, signaling that Naya was possibly not wearing one when the two went for a swim.

The 33-year-old actress is best known for playing the sharp-mouthed Santana Lopez on Glee for six seasons from 2009 to 2016.
