Residents impacted by the devastating impact of Typhoon Odette are slowly restarting to rebuild their lives. A lot of celebrities have used their platform to help the typhoon victims, from Cebuano couple Kryz Uy and Slater Young to Siargao-based vloggers Philmar Alipayo and Andi Eigenmann.
Today though, eyes are focused on actress Nadine Lustre and rumored boyfriend Christophe Bariou, who flew to Siargao to personally help with relief efforts, including installing solar panels themselves.
On a Facebook post by Christophe that featured a series of photos, the French businessman captioned, “Guys, we are taking day and night here to set up, coordinate, and secure distribution points for relief goods especially rice and canned goods. Us, we are focusing on Malinao, Union, and Mam On Island. Distribution point in Malinao in what’s left of our warehouse will be operational tomorrow.”
He continues, announcing further information on their charitable efforts, in case others would like to pitch in: “Planning to send boats to the islands, first Mamon, if possible La Janosa and Anajawan. If you want to help specifically these places, you send send donations on my account. But for general help and purchasing goods from the mainland. Please send to Bastien del Isle, info I already shared earlier on my feed.”
The rumored couple is also working closely with the non-profit organization Greenpeace. “Greenpeace is helping a lot on installing and distribution of power stations and lights. It’s ant work here on the island. I see everybody trying to help their own area of responsibility. Things are finally improving but we need all the help possible. Thank you so much!!,” Christophe concludes.
On Instagram stories, former beauty queen Rachel Peters also expressed gratitude to the Viva actress for personally delivering letters to their family. She wrote, “This woman made the journey from Manila to Siargao the long and honestly kinda scary way to lend a hand on the island. Extra grateful to her and @jennjfdez for personally delivering letters I wrote to family since there’s been no form of communication until just yesterday. Thank you thank you thank you.”
