Bhasha Mukherjee has returned to the UK to fulfill her duty amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

After representing England in the Miss World pageant in 2019 and devoting herself to charities all over the globe, Bhasha Mukherjee has returned to the United Kingdom to resume her post as a doctor.

Before the unprecedented coronavirus outbreak, her plan was to pursue humanitarian work full-time until August. Last March, she was in India as an ambassador for Coventry Mercia Lions Club, a development and community charity. She spent her time donating school supplies, and supporting a home for abandoned girls.

However, after receiving messages from her medical colleagues in eastern England, Bhasha got in touch with their hospital management and offered to lend a hand.

"It was incredible the way the whole world was celebrating all key workers, and I wanted to be one of those, and I knew I could help," she told CNN in an interview. "There's no better time for me to be Miss England [than to help] England [now] at a time of need."
