Miss World Philippines 2013 Megan Young is officially off the market! Surprising everyone with the big news, Megan and now-husband Mikael Daez both took to Instagram today to make the announcement in separate posts.
“Hello to Megan Young-Daez, and it’s time for me to get used to Mikael Daez-Young,” the actor captions the post, which features photos from what seems to be the newlyweds’ simple church ceremony, devoid of the usual fanfare. Megan can be seen wearing a knee-length white asymmetrical frock and pointy-toed pumps. The groom, on the other hand, was clad in a light brown suit paired with a white dress shirt and black leather derbies.
Meanwhile, Megan’s post shows the couple in different looks. The beauty queen looked every bit the glowing bride in her white gown with long sheer sleeves and a low back, with her hair gathered in a low bun and woven with a dainty white ribbon. As for Mikael, he opted for a beige suit and a classic white button-down underneath.
Megan and Mikael got married earlier today at San Roque Chapel in Subic, Zambales, where only a few close friends and family members were invited, according to a report by Pep.ph.
In an interview with Preview last year, February 2019, Mikael was quoted saying, “I would go as far as saying I’ll probably be with her my whole life. I find marriage to be important but definitely more as a label right now for me. The thing is, if I got married to her today, nothing will change tomorrow." To which, Megan added: "[The wedding] could be something big that we’ll prepare for or it could be something that we’ll be like, ‘Hey, let’s go at it tomorrow.’ It doesn’t matter how anymore—we’re in it for the long run anyway.”
