It's the month of hearts and we're feeling all the love—it's just been a few since Valentine's Day, after all. So whether you're on an extended celebration this long weekend with your significant other, or perhaps binge-watching your favorite series at home, you might want to add this feel-good wedding video of Maxene Magalona and Rob Mananquil to your must-do.
The couple first tied the knot on January 8 in a church wedding in Manila, but kept it as private as possible.
In an Instagram post, Maxene shares that they "received the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony in front of 33 people—our immediate families and principal sponsors. We didn't have coordinators, a wedding march and a mass; just the actual wedding rites." She also explains the reason why they had two weddings, saying, "We did this because we had always dreamt of having an outdoor ceremony with personal vows and since we're both Catholic, we decided to have a small church wedding first. We chose the church where we completed Simbang Gabi mass during our first year of dating so that we could visit it from time to time."
They only revealed having the church wedding after their romantic beachside wedding in Shangri-La Boracay Resort and Spa last January 11. And while we're lucky to have seen photos of their intimate church wedding, we're even luckier to see a film about their beach wedding, helmed by videographer Bob Nicolas (who also shot the wedding videos of Paul Soriano and Toni Gonzaga, Chiz Escudero and Heart Evangelista, Isabelle Daza and Adrien Semblat, and Jericho Rosales and Kim Jones, to name a few).
Drum beats play in the background as the couple dances while the sun is setting. The two then exchange their vows, with Maxene recalling how it was like when she first saw Rob. Meanwhile, Rob talks about his life before Maxene and how she made it all better. Their fun and playful personality as a couple shine when old-school style clips of them dancing around start to play. You'll be on the verge of crying when they start giving each other gifts, but you'll finally reach for those tissues when Maxene talks about her late father, Francis Magalona. You definitely won't reach the end of this video with dry eyes!
